We started setting up a microbrewery in the former poker machine room at the Tathra Hotel as part of the 2016/2017 renovation. The 12 poker machines were removed, the floor reinforced and a microbrewery designed.
Our stainless steel brewery equipment ordered and manufactured in China arrived at the Tathra Hotel in September 2018.
Installation completed including electrical and plumbing works - December, 2018.
The Humpback Brewery’s first brew - First Calf Pale Ale was on tap from 25th January, 2019!!
All Humpback beers are only available on tap at the Tathra Hotel on the Far South Coast, NSW and the Sundeck Hotel in Perisher, NSW.

Take-away HUMPBACK GROWLER bottles (1.89 litre) are also available at the hotel.
A growler is approximately a 6pack of 330ml bottles.
How it works: You pay $25 for the bottle and $22 for a fill. You rinse the bottle after use and return it for a refill. We replace your bottle with a chilled, sanitised bottle.
It will keep for over a week unopened and a few days after opening.

The Tathra Hotel is a historic hotel on the headland. It was first opened in 1888.

HERITAGE ROOMS/SUITES and OCEANFRONT ROOMS at the hotel. Accommodates 1 - 2 people. Priced from $245- per night.
Four rooms in the heritage section above the bar. The rooms have panoramic views up the coast and share the wide iron lacework balcony. HERITAGE SUITES are larger than HERITAGE ROOMS.
Ten OCEANFRONT ROOMS facing the ocean and providing unspoiled ocean views towards the East from private balconies. Two accessible rooms are available.
Each room features tea and coffee making facilities, TV, ensuite, mini-fridge, linen and towels.

Our Menus change seasonally to reflect the local produce available. We believe it's not only important to support our local farmers and producers but it is equally important to reduce the amount of food miles. Our menu includes gluten-free and vegetarian options and meals for children.
